Elfa Lind Einarsdóttir, RN RM MSc

Elfa Lind Einarsdóttir completed her master’s degree in midwifery in spring 2021. Since then, she has worked at the Labour Ward at Landspítali, the Antenatal and Postnatal Ward, and has also worked in antenatal care.

Elfa’s master’s thesis in midwifery focused on women’s birth positions in Iceland and the factors that influence their choices. Elfa places strong emphasis on warmth, informed choice and supporting women and families throughout pregnancy and birth.

When Elfa was writing her master’s thesis on birth positions, she came across a beautiful poem in English and translated it into Icelandic. Those of you who have visited us at Reykjavík Birth Center will know this poem well, as it has been on our wall since the Birth Center opened in 2022.
