A midwife-led birth center in Reykjavík, Iceland
The Reykjavík Birth Center offers pregnancy, birth and early postnatal care in a calm, home-like environment.
Our midwives support healthy women and birthing people with low-risk pregnancies who wish to give birth in a setting where they can feel informed, heard and actively involved in their care.
Our services
Our care begins at 34 weeks and continues through birth and the first ten days after the baby is born.
The birth center has two home-like birth suites, facilities for waterbirth, and a range of comfort measures including movement, massage, relaxation, hot and cold therapy, and nitrous oxide.
During labour and birth, care is provided by experienced midwives, with clear pathways for consultation, referral or transfer to hospital services if needed.
